Some come, some go...

When things change fast they can throw you a curveball.
I've been friends with this girl for many years, we skied, raced and hung out and did lots of things together. We both had CP so we were 'gimp buddies' (we can say that about ourselves).
So Heres the Story,

She invited me to a hockey game, and said she would pick me up. I did go to church earlier so I didn't get home till just after 6. I just got in, supper was ready, it would of taken me legit 5 minutes to eat if I had to. I invited her in for supper, she didn't.  She told me to get in.

I told her I was going to eat dinner before we went to the game.... this was at 630. The game isn't till 800. So we had lots of time. She kept on telling me to get out, and I insisted that I was going to eat my mom's good tasting stew. She legit pulled in to my house and then texted saying get in and then pulled out two minutes. She drove across the city to pick me up (which I am thankful for), but couldn't wait five minutes to allow me to eat a healthy meal... come on... I was not raised that way. It blows my mind that people can act this way.
In addition, my leg is acting weird and locking up when I walk, so it takes longer to walk and get around.
She did say that the tickets were available at the box office when I got there. I told her I wasn't coming, and then she told me to F*** Off. I was so taken back that she drove across the city and then left.

I guess the good people stay in your life.

90 Day Challenge...

One thing that I forgot to mention, which is really cool.
If you can find three friends or other people who get the value of your product, you can get yours free.

90 Day Challenge

HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE 90 DAY CHALLENGE????

I am so stoked for it. I have seen quick results from my family and have ordered a transformation kit to start my goal of losing 20 pounds. I would be really happy to work together as a team to lose weight and become a healthier person. The function of the program can be to lose weight, gain muscle mass, and make healthier life choices.

Check out this website for more information and sign my guestbook.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I will be officially starting my challenge when I head back to Lethbridge on Monday.

I urge everyone to take a look and make a goal and work for it!  There are packages for every type of program and person.

A little about me...

I am a 20 year old student, studying psychology at the University of Lethbridge. I have hopes of becoming a clinical psychologist and going to grad school to become that. I enjoy working/playing with children.
I have  a disability (my rant about disabled parking), cerebral palsy, but I do not let that get in my way of setting goals, working at them and achieving them. It can be difficult at times, but whats life without a challenge. I walk with crutches and sometimes where leg braces.
I enjoy sports, I play sledge hockey (we are starting a team in Lethbridge), and I enjoy skiing. I am a four tracker, which means I have four points of contact on the ground (2 skis and 2 outriggers). Outriggers are similar to poles, but they have ski tips on the ends  and I hold them like crutches. I  have skied since I was 3, and enjoy it very much. I have skied for the Para-Alpine Alberta team and have raced in a few nationals. My hero from nationals is Lauren Wolstencroft, she has 3 missing limbs. She skis with prosthetics and jokes that she can break her legs/.knees all the time.
Last summer I tried rowing, and that was fun. I will hopefully continue that this summer.
...I'll add some more about me later!

Dalai Lama: A to Zen in Life

Ok. So I'm sitting at my desk all day trying to study and understand developmental psychopathology for a test that I have tomorow. I like the class and find it very interesting. The interesting part to her test is that she asks us to apply the concepts to real life. Thats OK, I mean that is what we are trying to learn and eventually we will have to do that in the future. The challenging task then is how to apply it, I mean we need to know facts and we need to know different situations.
The lectures point out key information, in addition we have a boring textbook that has no diagrams or pictures, and she says, If I dont' mention it don't worry about it. Ok but if you mention it in one sentence do we have to know all about  Ainsworth attachment theories, and the types of parents there are.?
I have a poster in my room that looks like this:
It has an inspiring quote or something to think of with each letter. B is Believe in yourself.
So when in doubt, when your worried or stressing about anything, realize that you many know more than you think you do. You may have to push yourself a little harder but it is possible. If you don't believe in yourself, who will? I challenge you, when you are facing a difficult test or situation to say something positive to yourself and believe in yourself.

Disabled Parking

Disabled parking is meant for people who have a disability or some type of condition that makes it harder for them to walk long distances or walk in general. Disabled parking is not meant for people who do not have a disability (or are lazy)... go figure? But it seems like people like to park there, wait, and have their normal running child run to the car... people this is not a drop off/pick up spot. Nor is it a quick spot when you have to run in and get something REALLY FAST.... trust me I've heard it before.

I walk with crutches and walk slower than the average person. Therefore I am spending more time in the cold, when its winter and the longer I have to walk outside, the higher chance I have of falling on the ice.

Just for reference the disabled placard and parking stall look like this ---^

Please, if you do not have a placard, do not park in a spot. They have been made for reason, if you park there, life can be a bitch and Karma might smack you to the ground, and then you may need to park up close.

Days Go By

Everyday is a new day, full of new opportunities and challenges. Challenge yourself everyday, you'll become stronger. If you fall or fail get back up and try again. There are endless opportunities for a person to try something new. Try it. It won't hurt you. Smile often.
